It is designed to resemble what early hunters ate thousands of years ago. It is a dietary plan that mimics how prehistoric (during paleolithic era) humans may have eaten. The era dates from 2.5 million to 10,000 years ago. It is also known as the Paleolithic, stone age, hunter-gatherer, or caveman diet. It includes whole foods that could be obtained by hunting and gathering such as lean meats, fish, fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds. It won't prescribe dairy products, legumes and grains. Because of their lifestyle and eating habits presumably they had much lower rates of obesity, diabetes and heart disease. This diet can lead to significant weight loss and major improvements in health. It has to be followed only under expert doctors advise.
